Morley weaves the threads of jazz, soul, and folk traditions into a singular tapestry of vocal and acoustic splendor — the sound wave of a life lived with uncommon devotion to human rights and environmental justice. She is joined by her husband, Grammy-winning producer, (Meshell Ndegeocello’s No More Water: The Gospel of James Baldwin) and multi-instrumentalist, Chris Bruce for this intimate duet concert. Master Class: “Bebop, Blues & Afrofuturism” with Mike Monford

Detroit-based alto saxophonist, composer, and jazz historian Mike Monford leads an interactive master class that traverses the blues, bebop, ballads, and afrofuturism.  Rooted in 1960s spiritual and Afro-futurist jazz, his sound also blends hip-hop and soul influences. The masterclass will be followed by a concert featuring Destiny Muhammad, Lufuki, and Kev Choice. More concert info available here.
