Mark Rickey: Birthday Fundraiser for Wyldflowr Arts

Wyldflowr Arts is currently in the process of setting up a new 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization with a mission to provide music & arts education through live performance, workshops and classes.

Pianist and vocalist Mark Rickey leads an evening of music that will raise funds for Wyldflowr Arts. Mark has been a supporter and house pianist at the 2nd Sunday WyldJam for the last two years and recently joined Wyldflowr Arts in an official capacity as Board member and Chief Financial Officer. He brings his passion and musical talent and his many years with the Stanford University Budget Office to this exciting new challenge. This evening also happens to be his birthday!

The evening will be made extra special with the inclusion of two incredible guest vocalists:  Wyldflowr Arts co-founder Tiffany Austin and  Los Angeles-based vocalist Paul Rickey. It’s a bit of a reunion for the Rickey cousins who used to perform around the Bay as the Lime Rickey Quintet.    
Giving the band “that THUMP” will be first-call and highly in-demand bassist, Kevin Goldberg and a fantastic groove by drummer Lorca Hart.
We hope to have a swingin’ good time with old friends and new. Please join us and help launch this new endeavor for Wyldflowr Arts!

Rumi Abe – JiTN @ Wyldflowr Arts

Jazz in the Neighborhood and Wyldflowr Arts co-present:

Rumi Abe, a pianist from Nagoya, Japan, began playing Electone at age 4 and studying music theory and composition at Yamaha Music School. She refined her jazz skills under the mentorship of legends Fumio Karashima and Josh Nelson, performing over 200 shows annually across Tokyo. In 2022, she released her debut album with her trio. Now based in San Francisco as of 2024, Rumi is excited to share her music in the Bay Area.

Maddie Liu – JiTN @ Wyldflowr Arts

Jazz in the Neighborhood and Wyldflowr Arts co-present:

Maddie Liu isa singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and rapper, she checks many boxes (but never neatly). Since 2021, she’s gained traction in the Bay Area with the release of her debut series, the Oddisea. The Strayhorn Sessions Vol. 1, and Queer Christmas come out late 2025, produced by Oddity and many other talented folk at FAGJAZZ RECORDS.
