As artists, musicians, and lovers of music, we understand the deep healing properties of sound. We are elated to present a new Tarka Project, DEEP LISTENING, which creates space for sound to heal.

Achieved through focus, intention, and surrender, presented at venues which promote comfort, exceptional listening environments, and community, for this first deep listening session, we host 4 exceptional live performers, at a spatial sound clinic built for this very purpose. 

Join us at Reforesters Spatial Sound Clinic at 147 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11249, which is equipped with a 24.2 channel state of the art D&B Audiotechnik sound system,

8:00 PM: Raif Hyseni – A classically trained Albanian accordionist whose work bridges formal technique and Balkan folk traditions, reflecting Albania’s rich regional musical heritage.
8:45 PM: Peter Stan – Peter “Perica” Stan is a Serbian/Romanian Roma accordionist known for his playful innovation and soulful, intuitive improvisations.
9:30 PM: Los Quisqueyanos – Los Quisqueyanos is a Peekskill, NY–based traditional merengue conjunto specializing in Perico Ripiao, also known as Merengue Típico, the vibrant folk sound of the Dominican Republic, and features Juan Gabriel Alvarez on
tambora, Carlos Rodriguez on güira, Martin Jimenez on marímbula, and Bienvenido Caro on accordion.
10:15 PM: Ira Khonen Temple – An accordionist working within the Klezmer tradition, connecting Eastern European Jewish folk music to contemporary performance in the United States. Ira will be joined by with multi instrumentalist phenom Eléonore Weill.

3:30 PM: Dabke Dance Workshop taught by Farah Barqawi.
4:30 PM: Salieu Suso Trio -Born into a family of farmers and traditional musicians/historians from The Gambia, West Africa, that extends back nearly one thousand years, Suso was trained to play the 21-stringed kora (West African harp) at the age of eight, by his father, the renowned kora player of that region Alhaji Musa Makang Suso. He is recognized to be a descendant of JaliMady Wulayn Suso, the originator of the kora.
5:30 PM: Mafer Bandola – Mafer is a Venezuelan bandola virtuosa, producer, and composer redefining traditional music for global stages.

7:00 PM: The Jalopy Chorus – Jalopy’s resident vocal ensemble, is a community chorus that sings a wide variety of world folk harmony traditions
8:00 PM: Mohamed Araki Band – Mohamed is an internationally touring keyboardist, composer, producer and founder of AL-MURTAJA, and the first Sudanese musician to be nominated in the GRAMMY awards for his work with Nigerien-born guitarist BOMBINO’s most recent full length record, “Deran.”
9:00 PM: Linda EPO – Linda EPO’s musical journey is a testament to the rich tapestry of her Mexican and Haitian heritage, reflected in the vibrant fusion of genres that define her sound.
10:00 PM: Gogo Norales – Gogo Norales is a 23-year-old Garifuna World Music and folkloric musician based in New York, presenting Garifuna music from Honduras and representing the Garifuna communities of Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.

Additionally, BWW is programming an offsite stage at Roberto Clemente Plaza in partnership with the 3rd Avenue BID, featuring a free concert by Willie Martinez & La Familia Sextet from 2-4pm on June 6th in the South Bronx.

The Victor Lin Trio was formed at The Red Pavilion in early 2025 as a return to the stage for pianist and violinist Dr. Victor Lin, marking his first dedicated performance project in over 20 years. A Taiwanese-American musician and a longtime advocate for AAPI representation in the arts and industry, Lin brings his decades of experience as an educator at Columbia University and the Stanford Jazz Workshop into sharp focus with this explosive new ensemble. Featuring bassist Julian Wittich and drummer Ian Wacksman—two rising stars in the NYC jazz scene—the trio is known for its electrifying energy, lightning-fast musical choreography, and cinematic reimaginings of Studio Ghibli soundtracks. A signature act at The Red Pavilion, the trio is slated to release its first EP in fall 2025.
