Owen Chen’s “Eternal Wind” Quintet is a distinctive project that reimagines the music of Studio Ghibli and popular Anime in a guitar-focused quintet setting. The musical arrangements include Ghibli favorites such as Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, anime classics such as Demon Slayer, Cowboy Bebop, and Naruto, video games such as Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and Legend of Zelda, and many more.
The Eternal Wind Quintet features both a double guitar led ensemble, as well as a guitar and saxophone variation, which includes members from the jazz programs of New York University, Julliard, and Manhattan School of Music. Arrangements range from straight ahead swing, latin, Brazilian, funk, RnB, and pop influences, to create a diversity of sounds that contribute to the storytelling of the original soundtracks to these films and series.

We gather on 11 Tammuz — deep in the heat of summer, in a month the Jewish calendar has always associated with longing, and with what cracks open when we allow it to flow through us.
